[Website news] A joint venture led by HOCHTIEF Infrastructure has been awarded the modernization of the military airport in Čáslav, one of the key centres of the Czech Air Force. The contract value is approximately EUR 220 million.
The modernization is necessary to ensure the long-term safe and reliable operation of aviation technology used by the Army of the Czech Republic and NATO allies. The runway has not been comprehensively reconstructed for several decades, with only partial maintenance carried out in the past. This project represents an important step for the continued functioning of the base in the coming decades.
Scope of works
The project includes a complete repair of the runway and modernization of the airport lighting system, along with related infrastructure required for safe airport operations.
Delivery timeframe
Construction will take place during a closure of the airport from April 2026 to late 2028.
As an engineering-led business, HOCHTIEF brings the technical discipline required to deliver complex transport and aviation infrastructure across the asset lifecycle.
