|City||Fort Lauderdale, FL|
|Special feature||First net-zero energy bank in the U.S|
TD Bank in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is the first net-zero energy bank in the USA. This is made possible by photovoltaic panels that supply the building with energy as well as numerous energy-efficient technical features. The Platinum LEED-certified property produces more than 100,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, even though it only uses around 97,000 kilowatt-hours itself. In April 2012, the U.S. Green Building Council Florida also presented the forward- looking Turner-constructed project with the Outstanding LEED New Construction Award.
