Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Virginia, which Turner completed in 2011, is yet another certified green building. It achieved LEED Gold certification with key features such as its highly efficient energy plant along with the landscaped areas and roofs as well as natural watering using retained rainwater. Thanks to the design of the structure measuring approximately 110,000 square meters, it consumes nearly 30 percent less energy than conventional hospitals. The seven-story building with state-of-theart equipment offers space for 120 beds, cancer and emergency wards, numerous operating rooms as well as diagnostics and treatment rooms.
