HOCHTIEF

Preserving natural habitats

Before any construction work actually begins, HOCHTIEF already becomes actively engaged in conserving the biodiversity which exists in the area surrounding a project. This leads to individual concepts being drawn up which restrict impacts on the environment to a minimum. In addition, with many projects we assume responsibility right from the start for the renaturation of the areas affected and ensure that flora and fauna are protected. In the Greater Bargoed Community Project in the UK, for example, we resettled amphibians. In Australia, our Group company Thiess sees to reforestation of the local fauna after exploitation of a mine and thus promotes sustainable development and improved biodiversity.
