The Berlin Years 1907-1938", which was open from December 14th, 2001,

This represented a continuation of our company's commitment to the Bauhaus
that had started in 2000.

Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969) was a Director of the Bauhaus in Dessau and Berlin between 1930 and 1933 before emigrating to the USA in 1938. There he became a Director of the School of Architecture in what later became the Illinois Institute of Technology. Today he is regarded as one of the greatest architects of the 20th century.
The Berlin exhibition dealt in detail with the whole story of the training,
development and works of Mies van der Rohe, presenting more than 50
of his projects. The Museum of Modern Art in New York took responsibility
for the concept of the exhibition. When the presentation in Berlin was
over, "Ludwig Mies van der Rohe - The Berlin Years 1907-1938" was
transferred to the New York Museum of Modern Art, where it was open
from June 20th through September 30th, 2001.
