|Client||Bay Area Rapid Transit District|
|Special feature||State-of-the-art train to plane connection/Automated People Mover|
Flatiron is heading a joint venture to build the column structure for the new elevated people mover serving the Oakland,
California, International Airport, a project scheduled for completion in summer 2014. Turner is also part of the team as a subcontractor. Over five kilometers long, the railway will link the airport with the closest train station, replacing the existing bus service. The fully automated people mover will run above street level away from the traffic, making it a swift, reliable means of transport even at rush hour.
