Acceptance
The transfer of risk from the subcontractor to the client occurs with the acceptance of the construction.
At the same time, the warranty period starts. Where no formal acceptance is given by the client, a
construction is considered completed at the time of commissioning at the latest.
For construction contracts accounted for by the “Percentage of Completion“ method (see “Accounting
of Construction Contracts“), the date of acceptance has no relevance for the realization of profits
since portions of the profits are realized not only after the acceptance but in accordance with the
progress of rendered performance.
