More new contracts for HOCHTIEF subsidiaries in Asia/Pacific worth EUR 712 m

| Visionstream to expand and maintain telecommunication network in New Zealand - Mining contract in Australia extended by seven years | |
| Two companies of HOCHTIEF’s subsidiary Leighton have secured contracts in New Zealand and Australia, worth almost EUR 712 million: Visionstream, a Leighton Contractors company, will expand part of New Zealand‘s telecommunication network and provide maintenance services over a period of ten years. The contract volume totals EUR 461 million (NZD 1 billion). Leighton Contractors has been awarded a contract extension for the Duralie mine in Australia: The company will mine coal for another seven years at the project location. The contract is worth approximately EUR 251 million (AUD 350 million).Under the new assignment, Visionstream takes on technical responsibility for about one-third of New Zealand’s copper and optic fiber access networks. The company will expand the network, provide maintenance services and also perform services locally for telephone, broadband and cable customers. The client is New Zealand’s telecommunication company Chorus. In Australia, Leighton Contractors will continue its work for client Gloucester Coal: The Leighton subsidiary undertakes mine planning, surface mining operations and maintenance work. Every year, open-cut operation at the Duralie mine in the state of New South Wales produces some 1.8 million tons of coal. | |
