Streif Baulogistik wins major contract at Frankfurt Airport

| Company to be responsible for superordinate building logistics during Terminal 1 extension work | |
| Since the beginning of November HOCHTIEF subsidiary Streif Baulogistik has been responsible for superordinate building site management and logistics for the extension work at Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport. The new A-West concourse is to be created there by 2012 which, once completed, can also be used for the A380 superjumbo. The contract has a total value of over twelve million euros and will run for 45 months. The client is Fraport AG. The project is the greatest acquisition success for the Essen company’s Logistics Consulting & Management division to date.During the extension works at Terminal 1, Streif Baulogistik will be coordinating the building site’s entire supply chain. The contracted services include site security and the supervision of the three access roads. The company will also supply the building site with water and be responsible for site cleaning and waste removal. Furthermore, the company will supply and manage an initial 80 office and daytime accommodation containers. The building logistics company will have a permanent staff presence on site. “Our business model - providing logistics planning and management, as well as building site infrastructure from a single source - is increasingly in demand for large-scale projects," underlines Managing Director Thorsten Wiesendorfer. | |
