HOCHTIEF: New contracts won in Australia and the USA in June

| Construction of a bypass and upgrade of a wastewater treatment plant in Australia - Expansion of children‘s hospital in the USA | |
| HOCHTIEF reports more new contracts won in the international markets: Leighton Contractors - a subsidiary of Leighton Holdings - as an alliance team member will construct the Ballina bypass in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The company‘s share in the project amounts to EUR 303 million (AUD 490 million). John Holland, also a Leighton subsidiary, will upgrade the Murrumba Downs Wastewater Treatment Plant for a good EUR 90 million (AUD 148 million). HOCHTIEF subsidiary Turner, together with a joint venture partner, won a construction management contract for a replacement hospital on the Nationwide Children‘s Campus in Ohio, USA. The volume of the assignment was agreed to be kept confidential.The Ballina bypass has a length of 12.4 kilometers and forms part of the government‘s Pacific Highway Upgrade Program. Leighton Contractors will design and construct the four-lane road and build, among others, 19 bridges under this assignment. The upgrade at the Murrumba Downs Wastewater Treatment Plant will bring the facility‘s capacity to almost 31 megaliters per day. The project will meet rigorous environmental standards and utilize the latest technology in bio-nutrient removal. For John Holland, the assignment is a follow-up contract: The company is already realizing a EUR 27 million (AUD 44 million) project at the same site. In the USA, Turner was selected to provide construction management services for an almost 65,000-square-meter children‘s hospital until spring 2012. The new building complex will comprise, among others, an oncology unit and an intensive care unit. HOCHTIEF‘s US subsidiary has already been cooperating with Nationwide Children‘s Hospital on numerous projects for 15 years. | |
