"In just over two years since it was founded, HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions (UK) has acquired seven projects in the PPP educational sector in the UK and Ireland. This new contract provides further evidence of our expertise and continued commitment to the growing education market, says John Cann, Chief Executive Officer of HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions (UK).

In all, the project company will invest more than EUR 53 million in construction works. Construction is due to commence this month and to be completed by September 2008. Lessons at the two new schools, which together have an area of about 18,000 square metres, will commence at the beginning of that school term in newly constructed facilities.

Once the school buildings have been completed, the project company will be responsible for facility management for a period of 25 years. This will be carried out in cooperation with the British facilities management partner, Mitie plc.

The PPP contract in Salford is already the fifth secured by HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions in the UK and Ireland since the beginning of 2006. It increases the company‘s portfolio of schools in Germany, the UK and Ireland to a total of 82, accommodating some 45,000 students.
