Warsaw International Airport, 1990-1992

Internationaler Flughafen Warschau Warsaw needed a new airport, but the Polish state airline PPL did not have the money for one. HOCHTIEF solved the problem: For the construction of a new passenger and freight building the company stitched a triangular deal together, took over the role of general contractor, and also set up the whole financial structure.
Internationaler Flughafen Warschau The client, PPL, was only able to cover about one-third of the total costs from its own resources. HOCHTIEF therefore arranged for the work to be paid for by a bank which then reaped its rewards because PPL assigned to it, for a limited time, the revenue that accrues to it when aircraft land, take off, or use Polish airspace.
