North Luzon Expressway, Philippines
On Luzon Island in the Philippines, Leighton Asia Ltd. has modernized the North Luzon
Expressway on the basis of a PPP contract. The 84 kilometer
long toll road is the traffic artery between the capital Manila and the Clark Special business
region. The investment volume is about EUR 304 million. Leighton Asia has a
16.5 percent share in the concession company which will operate the toll road
for 30 years, including construction time.
The construction works were completed in February 2005. The expressway has been
provided with four new interchanges and an additional overpass.
