The 4D model is used for planning and calculating the operation, use and
physical behavior of a building structure. In addition, the model provides
for a graphic presentation of design results to project parties from fields
other than construction, enabling them to take decisions on a reliable basis
already in early project phases. This makes ViCon an efficient tool for
HOCHTIEF's PreFair business model.
With the interactive 4D model, visibility and accessibility of building elements
can be checked and lighting and traffic simulations can be generated. When
calculating the physical behavior of a building, for example, the building's
statics and dynamics, temperature distribution inside and energy consumption
are calculated.
The 4D model can be used as a geometric basis for numerical calculation in
order to generate a model. The presentation of calculation results in a 4D
model makes for much easier understanding and interpretation of the results.
Added value:
In particular project parties from fields other than construction profit from
the graphicness of a 4D model. Intellectual access to the project and its
current planning stage is considerably simplified. The 4D model provides
support for comparisons of different design variants and is of help when
decisions on specific design options have to be taken. The model is used
in various planning/design disciplines, thus reducing costs.
